Expansion of the aviary 2025
The new plastic cages developed by the company
OESIEG
are very easy to assemble.
The
15
breeding
boxes
120
x
60
x
55cm
(W
x
D
x
H)
are
made
entirely
of
plastic,
aluminium
and
stainless steel.
My
colleague
Christoph
Heimoz
built
a
6m
long
drawer
unit
with
8
smooth-running
drawers
as
a
base for the new breeding cages.
By
removing
the
dividers,
5
breeding
cages
can
also
be
used
as
stock
cage
600
x
60
x
55cm
(W
x
D
x
H) or as flight aviaries.
As
an
innovative
new
feature
from
the
company
OESIEG
the
cage
fronts
are
no
longer
screwed
into the cages, but held in position by means of power magnets.
This innovation makes regular cleaning much easier.
The
tried
and
tested
plastic
nesting
boxes
20
x
25
x
25cm
(W
x
D
x
H)
can
be
easily
slid
into
the
breeding cages and can be opened from the outside, which simplifies regular nesting box checks.
Although made entirely of plastic, a nesting trough made of Meranti wood is used.
1 large indoor aviary 240 x 310 x 230cm (W x D x H)…
…and two small aviaries for young Bourke's parrots complete the facility.
The
new,
self-developed,
flexible
and
adjustable
perch
holder
allows
perches
with
a
diameter
of
10
- 18mm to be attached and, if necessary, easily replaced.
Three
300W
infrared
heating
panels
(90
x
30cm)
mounted
on
the
ceiling
provide
the
necessary
warmth in the breeding room during winter.
For
lighting,
three
LED
lights
1400mm
long,
SOLAR
STINGER
type
DAYLIGHT
(6500°
K
LEDs)
with
24
watts each from
ECONLUX
are used.
The
LUNETTA
night
light
(0.4
W)
from
OSRAM
with
brightness
sensor
is
used
as
a
night
light
(4
pieces for the entire breeding room).
A
NOVUS
LHV
225
fan
with
an
output
of
900
m3
per
hour
provides
the
necessary
air
circulation.
The entire system is controlled by a SUEVIA 248 T30 timer from
CONRAD
.
